Boresaver Iron Oxide Solutions

Boresaver is a comprehensive and innovative range of cleaning solutions for systems that are contaminated with iron oxide, manganese oxide, iron related bacteria and calcium carbonate residues. Boresaver Ultra C, Boresaver Liquid and Boresaver IKL Pro are all approved by the Secretary of State under regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 1989 for use in potable water applications. Boresaver Ultra C has now been Tested and Certified by NSF International. Boresaver is part of a GWS maintenance programme for well cleaning and borehole rehabilitation.

Iron oxide residues in groundwater is a growing problem, estimated to affect about 40% of the world’s water bores. Iron in the water can cause it to look dirty - whether caused by naturally occurring bacteria or due to oxidation, the result is an oxide and biofilm that builds up in the pumps and headworks, affecting performance, quality and output. The problems can present as dirty water, rusty water, iron rich water or as a type of biofouling.

Boresaver is a unique product that dissolves iron oxide residues and manganese oxide residues, calcium carbonate residues and combats iron related bacteria contamination.  The product can be used without dismantling equipment and will not attack or deteriorate any of the materials inside the system. When dosed correctly Boresaver is biodegradable, breaking down into the completely harmless components carbon dioxide and water. One of its key components occurs naturally in plants and vegetables, making the product environmentally friendly.  Boresaver is as extremely easy for householders to use and full dosage instructions are given.

Well Screen Before & After Treatment

BoreSaver Ultra C

BoreSaver Ultra C

Boresaver Ultra C is added to water in the bore casing either dry or as a slurry. The crystallized cleaner then settles through the water in the bore, dissolving the iron oxide residues. It can be added to the well whilst all the equipment is in-situ and will not affect the pump parts and equipment.

BoreSaver Liquid

BoreSaver Liquid

Boresaver Liquid is added to bores where iron residues build up in the pump, screen, headworks and reticulation system as a result of iron related bacteria. This can be used as a maintenance product or in combination with the Ultra C.
